We’re a small business with a small team, but we walk our talk. This is a statement of commitment to demonstrate we do what we say.
What we look for
Whilst there’s no such thing as a dealbreaker for the right person, we ideally look for:
Greater than five years advice experience, as there’s no substitute for having been around the traps. Our clients expect all our team to understand advice intimately and that takes time.
Experience working in more than one licensee, as it’s hard to even get a feel for what is essential and what isn’t if you haven’t worked under more than one framework. This helps ensure you’re asking the right questions.
Xplan experience, as most of our clients invest heavily in their technology and Xplan is the advice tool that best supports that, practical Xplan experience is very valuable.
The right attitude, most importantly! We want problem solvers. Team members who look forward, aren’t afraid to go back and solve a root cause to a problem just because it is hard, take a positive view, are keen to try new things, and recognise that every client is on their own journey to excellence.
Diversity, if you don’t look, sound, or act quite like us, please do consider joining us. We pride ourselves on thinking differently, and diversity helps us get there.
What makes us different
We recruit for the right person, and make the role work to their best skills and abilities. We have a small team, and we’re looking for star performers to add to it. Nothing less.
We take a long-term approach, with remuneration structures and benefits tied to longevity. This aligns to our commitment to continuous improvement, not transactional short-term work.
No dickhead policy, with absolutely no tolerance for dickheads in the team or with our clients, no matter how much they might pay.
Be yourself, we don’t want automatons. Bring your personality to work. No suits, unless that’s your thing. In fact, even if that’s your thing, we want to hear/see/share it. (For our fellow nerds, here‘s why that’s actually both cool and effective.)
What that looks like
Whilst this isn’t the most significant bit, we think it’s important to highlight some of the practical ways these principles manifest themselves.
Generous remuneration, we pay above the average for similar roles in the profession and review this annually.
Flexible work arrangements, with most of our work being done from home whilst maintaining the option for shared office workspace access. We are outcome-driven, not time driven.
Access to Financial Advice, we believe in financial advice and we ensure all full-time team members get it through our advice partner.
We believe in super and insurance, and as such we pay 12% super (and have since we started) with additional contributions to fund insurance premiums. This is consistent with our long-term approach and commitment to our high-performing team.
Mentorship, great team members aren’t set and forget. We provide regular support and mentorship.
Continuous improvement, through our work we’re not only iterating for our clients, but apply this principle to ourselves and our work. There’s always scope to discover something new.
How to get on board
Whilst openings are few and far between, we’re always looking to connect with our next future team member. If you think you could be our next star performer, you can:
